Tea time

24.7.22

I have a song I’ve got waiting to be popped open like a champagne bottle. It’s one of those songs that has a sway to it but then crescendos into a bounce, so you find yourself figure eight-ing with your shoulders and head (is that just me or are we all into the near shimmying shoulders?)

It’s a song about taking a seat at a table already laid out for you and I am hosting and inviting you to ‘take tea take time, you need a precious find’(lyrics). My English side is really showing itself now. My only dilemma is I can’t figure out if to release it in August. Does a tea time, half shimmy half sway dance track make sense in the height of summer? I like the idea of the invitation to take a pause and enjoy the moment at a table gathering. I need this all year round. I am so fond of dinner parties because of this.

Would love your advice: are you eager for more sounds now or shall I wait for the autumn?

Also how do you feel about me sharing song lyrics here to songs that haven’t yet been created? I’d like to involve you in the process of how I write and create songs. Who knows maybe it will inspire some of you to pen and sing your own tunes. Many people have asked me, ‘how do you do it? How does a song get created?’ so I’d love to share that process.

Let me know if it interests you.
